Debussy: Images & Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune
The Hallé and Sir Mark Elder continue their exploration of Debussy with Images for orchestra and the Prélude à l’apres-midi d’un faune. Alongside these two orchestral works is a world premiere arrangement by Colin Matthews. Following his acclaimed orchestrations of Debussy’s Preludes and the recently recorded Les soirs illuminés par l’ardeur du charbon, Matthews’s orchestral version of Et la lune descend sur le temple quit fut, from the second book of Images for piano, receives its first recording.
