Exclusive: Webern & Strauss – Zubin Mehta, Camilla Nylund & Wiener Philharmoniker

Recorded live in the Golden Hall of Vienna’s legendary Musikverein in December 2020 – and available to stream exclusively on IDAGIO – Zubin Mehta conducts the Vienna Philharmonic in music by Anton Webern and Richard Strauss. Strauss’s grand Nietzschean Tone Poem ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’ is contrasted with his valedictory Four Last Songs (with soloist Camilla Nylund) in a programme that opens with Webern’s remarkable Six Pieces for Orchestra op. 6.
