Arts@Future at Reina Sofía School: Javier Comesaña – The Spirit of the Violin
About this event
In this concert, one of the most outstanding students of the Reina Sofía School shows his talent for the first time in the Global Concert Hall, within the Arts@Future series. Javier Comesaña, a violinist recently awarded the Heifetz Prize, offers a recital with Ricardo Alí Álvarez, accompanying pianist Professor of the Violin Chair. On the programme: Mozart’s Violin Sonata K. 454, which starts with a long and balanced introduction between the two instruments; the poetic and unfairly unknown Romanze op. 2 no. 1 by Joseph Joachim; and the inspiring Sonata No. 3 Op. 108 by Johannes Brahms.
The Reina Sofía School of Music is considered one of the leading European Schools for especially gifted students who wish to become professional musicians. Every year, 150 young musicians from more than 30 countries meet renowned teachers in an inspiring building at the centre of Madrid. The tuition-free system, thanks to the scholarships granted by our sponsors, allows those with enough merit to have access to the highest level of education. The School organizes over 300 concerts a year with more than 60,000 attendees, in order to give students the opportunity to mature on stage.
This concert is presented as part of the Arts@Future series in the IDAGIO Global Concert Hall, curated by the Hampsong Foundation.
Your ticket purchase will directly support the participating artists through IDAGIO’s Fair Artist Payout Model: IDAGIO pays 70% of the net revenue directly to the performers.
