GARDENS OF NIGHT - a SongEasel recital in the Café Chanson
About this event
Nocturnal songs of nature transport us through this recital of French song and Lieder, featuring Mahler’s moving Rückert Lieder, Fauré’s best-loved Apres un rêve and beautiful songs from Berlioz’s Nuits d’été. Recorded live in Blackheath Halls, London, the recital forms part of SongEasel's 2021 mini-series Café Chanson: celebrating the musical cafe culture of nineteenth-century Paris through song and commemorating French composer and pianist Francis Poulenc who died on this day in 1963.
This stream is available to watch until February 28, 2022.
