Iván Fischer & Budapest Festival Orchestra – Tango, Jazz and Surrealism LIVE
About this event
Marches, tangos, jazz, waltzes and surreal Spartans, live from Budapest! The colourful concert spanning the 20th century. Though drawing on music by a variety of trail-blazing Argentinian and French composers active around the turn of the last century and in the last century, this programme adds up to a satisfying whole, bringing their iconoclastic and idiosyncratic personal styles together to present a thrilling and fascinating picture of a musical century. Kagel’s entertaining marches, Piazzolla’s melancholy tangos, Ravel’s jazz- and waltz-inspired brilliance, Milhaud’s exoticism and Satie’s unique musical experiments: they promise to add up to an unforgettable concert with Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
