Sinfonieorchester Basel: 1001 Nights
About this event
Three distinguished guest artists join the Sinfonieorchester Basel on the stage of the Basel Musiksaal in this livestream concert. The 25-year-old violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a Viennese with Armenian roots, has been touring the major European concert halls since winning a prize at the 2015 international Sibelius competition. Cellist Kian Soltani studied at the Music Academy in Basel and is one of the leading musicians of the young generation, as well as Daniel Barenboim’s sought-after chamber music partner.
The concert is conducted by Gustavo Gimeno, currently chief conductor of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and music director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and features two rousing Romantic masterpieces: Johannes Brahms's Double Concerto and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s glittering symphonic poem Sheherazade, drawing on stories from 1,001 Nights.
Your ticket purchase will directly support the participating artists through IDAGIO’s Fair Artist Payout Model: IDAGIO pays 80% of the net revenue directly to the performers.
This stream is available to watch until April 21, 2021.
