The First Gala Concert of the Philharmonie de Paris
About this event
For this first Gala concert at the Philharmonie, Khatia Buniatishvili, patron of the Démos project, is surrounded by an exceptional artistic line-up, bringing together Sabine Devieilhe, Angélique Kidjo, Gvantsa Buniatishvili and other surprise guests along with the Orchestre des Jeunes Démos and Lilian Thuram, patron of Démos. All proceeds will be donated to the Démos project.
Démos is a project of cultural democratization focusing on orchestral musicianship. Since 2010, the Philharmonie de Paris has included over 6,000 children in the project. There are currently 45 Démos orchestras spread throughout France, bringing together children aged 7 to 12 living in underserved urban neighborhoods or in rural areas. For 3 years, they are given a musical instrument, which is gifted to them if they choose to continue to learn music at the end of the program.
This Gala concert will be performed in French, with a foreword in English. For the pre and post-concert talks, a live partial translation will be provided.
